Global Project - 10,000 Trees in 2008
Absolute Green Pay supports the Trees for the Future program to plant trees in locations all over the globe. In 2008, Absolute Green Pay will plant 5,000 trees through this program. Absolute Green Pay will donate an additional amount from a portion of our revenue from each new client in 2008 to Trees for the Future. We'll donate the first 5,000 trees ourselves and contribute a portion of the revenue from each new client in 2008 to match that donation for a total goal of 10,000 trees planted.
(From Trees for the Future) "Communities around the world, from the drylands of Africa to the mountains of Central America, report to us that they are struggling with the same problems. They have seen that as lands have been deforested, soil fertility declined rapidly and previously abundant fresh water, fuelwood, fruits, and animal forage all became scarce.
Agroforestry is a land-use system that integrates agriculture, trees, people, and animals in the same space, resulting in improved soil quality, higher yields, and improved standards of living. Agroforestry has been practiced around the world in varying forms for thousands years, and as such it works well with the low-input land-management systems that are commonplace throughout the developing world. Our role is to train the world’s communities in advances in agroforestry, and to facilitate the diffusion and promotion of these strategies."
Local Green Projects - Manatee River, Everglades and Sarasota Parks
Absolute Green Pay is based in Sarasota, FL. As a result we have chosen to focus additional 2008 green initiative resources on local projects such as hands on volunteer work to maintain the Manatee River Blueway, clean parks programs in and around the city of Sarasota and to provide donations to support the conservation and restoration of the Florida Everglades.
Other Projects
Absolute Green Pay also donates time to Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County and is an active member of Rotary International.
